AIM OF THE DAY: to introduce children to competition with the intention of matching players by grade, weight, gender and age in an atmosphere of encouragement.
It would be appreciated if players who have won medals at Canterbury and above events are discouraged from entering this tournament
Two Age Groups: 7-10 yrs as at 31st Dec 2025
11-14 yrs as at 31st Dec 2025
WEIGH IN FOR EVERYONE
8:30 am
The tournament will start as soon as possible after the start of the first weigh in.
If competitors are not available at the time of their weigh in, they will forfeit the competition.
The children will be weighed wearing judo trousers with girls also wearing T shirts.
Ensure names are spelt correctly as certificates may be pre-printed.
GRADE DIVISIONS:
- White Belt with Yellow Tab(s)
- Registered Yellow Belt, 5kyu, (including orange tabs)
WEIGHT GROUPS:
7-10 yrs: u24kg, u28, u32, u36, 36+
11-14 yrs: u32kg, u36, u40, u45, u50, u55, u60 and 60+
COST: $15.00 per entry – only participation in one weight and age will be accepted.
ENTRANTS MUST BE REGISTERED MEMBERS OF JUDO NZ
Players need the full consent of their parent/s or legal guardian to enter
CONTEST TIME: 2 minutes
Medals will be presented at intervals during the day.

ORANGE BELT TOURNAMENT

AIM OF THE DAY:
Provide a competition for Registered Orange belt players by gender, weight if necessary for JUNIORS only. Under 14 yrs as at 31 Dec 2025
This event is different but will be run in conjunction with the Try a Tournament.
Orange belts tournament starting at 8.30 am.
There will not be medals etc once you have finished competing you can go home.
Please ensure players weights are correct at time of entry to eliminate major delays on the day and names are spelt correctly.
There will not be a weigh in for this event.
COST: $15.00 per entry – only one entry for this event
